Energy Star homes

As a high performance builder, Ark Homes strives to provide the highest quality service and product to all its customers.  That's why Ark Homes participates in the Wisconsin Energy Star Homes program. The program is designed to help homeowners know and understand they are building a high performance home that is comfortable, safe, durable and energy efficient.

“The Energy Star Program is one way to certify quality work done by a quality builder,” explained Ark Homes president, Bill Koehne. “Customers who enroll in the program have lower energy bills and a higher quality home with better resale value.”

The Wisconsin Energy Star Homes program is a simple way to understand that the quality of a new home lies in the details-details that may not be seen. These details include the comfort and energy efficiency provided by properly installed insulation, or the convenience of a quiet exhaust fan and how it contributes to indoor air quality.  These are simple, inexpensive details that can help you get the best home possible.

As with any major purchase,  consumers are looking for quality in a new home. In a Wisconsin Energy Star Home, the quality is in the details, such as:
-the ability to control or enhance indoor air quality by managing indoor moisture and airborne pollutants
-added safety, because furnace, water heater and fireplace combustion by-products are exhausted directly from the home
-properly installed insulation and draft-free construction
-added durability, because warm, moist, inside air, as well as rain and moisture from the outside, is kept out of walls and attic spaces, preventing structural damage, and
-greater energy efficiency, including electrical, as well as monthly space heating and cooling savings.

Ark Homes works closely with Wisconsin Energy Star Homes consultants to create a home environment that is safe, comfortable, durable and energy efficient.  This is accomplished through site visits that verify construction details and performance tests to be sure that a home works as designed and meets the Wisconsin Energy Star Homes criteria.
